Vice Chancellor Kim Awarded by Governor Punjab for Relief
Due to Covid-19, movement of people in Pakistan was also limited through city lockdowns and social distancing, but recently all lockdown measures have been lifted because of gr eat socio economic loss such as extreme poverty level reaching 25% of the total population and mass unemployment. All schools have closed until July 15 and it is unpredictable how the fall semester will begin in current situation.
We have worked in food distribution to 10,800 Pakistanis in 1,680 homes over the past two months. Many people were grateful that it was a big help to their lives in such hardship. Recently, the governor of Punjab invited us to his office to encourage us in PGI college establishment and Covid-19 relief work and awarded us with a plaque of gratitude. Serving the community suffering from Covid-19, through volunteer work is an activity consistent with school vision of “helping to create a loving community through education.”
